Grapefruit (juice) does not always go well with medications. Does the label of your medicine say, "Beware of grapefruit (juice), read leaflet"? Do not eat or drink grapefruit (juice) more than two days a week, at least three days apart. You're at risk of side effects.

How about that?

Substances in grapefruit (juice) slow down or temporarily stop the breakdown of your drug. Mineola's effect is less well known. Because of this, we recommend the same as with grapefruit. Eating grapefruit increases the concentration of the drug in your body. This makes you more likely to experience side effects. This happens every time you drink grapefruit juice or eat a grapefruit. The effect is over after about three days. Do you get symptoms after drinking grapefruit juice or eating grapefruit in combination with your medication? If so, contact us.

How about orange (juice) and tangerine (juice)?

You can eat and drink those as usual, with no extra risk of side effects!

Are you eating grapefruit or mineola a lot or often, and don't want to temporarily change your intake? If so, discuss this with us. We may be able to give you another medication that does go well with these fruits.
