Planning to go skiing, snowboarding or cross-country skiing? Maybe just enjoy the snow? Then keep in mind that the UV radiation in the mountains can be stronger than you are used to. This is especially true if the sun reflects off the snow. In addition to using sunscreen, it is helpful to be extra careful if you are prone to cold sores.

  1. Protect your lips: Bright sunlight and cold winds can activate or aggravate cold sores. Therefore, use a lip balm with a high protection factor against both UV rays and the cold. Choose a special formula that protects against both uv-a, and uv-b rays, while moisturizing and softening lips at the same time. Ask us for advice
  2. Use sunscreen: Apply sunscreen well to your face. Use a high protection factor: SPF 50. We are happy to help.
  3. Use sunglasses: Protect your eyes with sunglasses that block 100% UV light. This not only protects your eyes but can also help to partially cover your face.

So, in addition to enjoying your time on the slopes, remember to take these simple precautions to protect yourself from the sun and minimize any problems with cold sores.

Have fun and have a safe winter vacation!
