Why return is important

Medicines are harmful to the environment when you throw them away or flush them down the toilet. They end up in water, which is bad for animals, plants and people. Water treatment plants often cannot remove these substances properly.

Storing old medications at home is also not without risk. You could accidentally use the wrong medicine, or a child might grab it. That can be dangerous.
