Do you have medications in your home that you no longer use or are past their expiration date? Then return them to the pharmacy. It's better for the environment and safer for you and your family.

In this article you can read why this is so important and what we as a pharmacy do for you.

.

Why return is important

Medicines are harmful to the environment when you throw them away or flush them down the toilet. They then end up in the water, which is bad for animals, plants and people. Water treatment plants often cannot remove these substances properly.

Storing old medications at home is also not without risk. You could accidentally use the wrong medicine, or a child might grab it. That can be dangerous.

What does the pharmacy do with old medicines?

Bring your medicines back to us and we will make sure they are destroyed safely. We work according to the rules of the government and the KNMP, the professional organization for pharmacists.

.
