Your local pharmacy: a team of experts for your medications

You pick up your medications and go on your way. But a lot happens before you take that little box home. Our team checks whether the medication, the dosage, and the instructions for use are appropriate for your situation. We also take your other medications and your overall health into account.

Daily communication with your primary care physician

Netwerk Apotheken pharmacies work closely with local primary care physicians. We discuss patients’ medications on a daily basis. Sometimes the family doctor calls us with a question. Sometimes we notice something we want to discuss. Is this medication right for the patient? Can it be taken with other medications? Is a different dosage needed? Together, we look for an appropriate treatment and minimize risks as much as possible.

When does that make a difference

An antibiotic for your child

For children, the correct dosage often depends on their weight. That’s why we ask for their current weight. We also check the strength of the oral solution and explain how many milliliters you should give. If in doubt, we consult with the doctor.

Dizziness in an older patient

An older patient reports that standing up is causing dizziness more and more often. The patient is taking blood pressure medication and a sleep aid. The pharmacist checks whether the medications might be a factor. Together with the primary care physician, we assess whether monitoring or adjustments are needed.

A pain reliever alongside other medications

You’re taking a blood thinner and want ibuprofen for back pain. This combination can increase the risk of bleeding. We’ll review this and discuss which approach is best for you.

Taking multiple medications at once

Medications from your primary care physician, prescriptions from a specialist, and over-the-counter pills: it can add up to quite a collection. We’ll check whether they’re compatible and whether you can take them safely. Sometimes, a thorough discussion about all your medications is helpful.

Almost all of our pharmacies have a medication dispenser. You can pick up eligible orders there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as soon as you receive a pickup notification. Need additional guidance? We’ll arrange how you can get it.
