Mother's Day tip: give your mom protected skin
Spring is in full bloom and during this season it is important not to forget to protect our skin. Today is Mother's Day. Even with the first rays of the sun, sunscreen or day cream with a UV filter is an appropriate care product, especially now that the skin has had little sun. Immediately a good tip for Mother's Day, then!
Request our advice
The application of sunscreen or a day cream with UV filter is not only pleasant for your skin. The skin faces various harmful influences every day. Factors such as the cold, wind and also air pollution make the skin vulnerable. In addition to these factors, uv radiation unfortunately plays an important role in damaging your skin. Yes, a little vitamin D is healthy, but you already get that from fifteen minutes of sunlight a day. Protecting your skin is important, for example by using a day cream with UV filter. Vichy Liftactiv Supreme Day Cream is such a product and contains a UV filter. However, not all day creams have an SPF. Therefore, make sure that your face cream with SPF actually contains a good factor that provides broad-spectrum protection. In the pharmacy we will be happy to advise you.
Three tips from the KWF: Clothes, Clothes, Lubrication
- Clothes: Plan your time in the sun carefully and avoid the most intense hours between noon and 3:00 pm. Even in the shade, sun exposure can lead to sunburn, so always protect yourself.
- Clothes:Wear clothing that covers your skin and preferably choose airy, longer garments. Note that lighter and thinner fabrics offer less protection, so invest in UV-resistant clothing if necessary.
- Lubricate:Use sunscreen or a day cream with at least SPF 30 at least half an hour before you go outside. Remember to reapply every two hours, especially after swimming. And make sure the cream also blocks UV rays.
Extra tips for protection
- Wear a cap or hat to protect your scalp.
- Invest in a good pair of sunglasses with UV protection, ideally with side protection.
- Keep in mind the shelf life of sunscreen and replace it after 12 months for optimal protection.
Let your skin get used
Remember that even in early spring temperatures, your skin can burn. Sun strength does not depend on temperature, but on the amount of UV radiation. Let your skin calmly get used to the spring sun by taking timely protective measures.
So, while you are enjoying the warm spring breeze, don't forget to take loving care of your skin. Applying sunscreen or day cream with UV filter is not only a gesture of caring for yourself, but also for those you care about. Happy Mother's Day!
